Biodiversity – Artist in the Classroom and Green Flag
I am delighted to welcome Brigid Teehan ( Mannion) as an Artist in the Classroom to work with me this year.
Brigid will complete 50 hours of artistic work with both the Junior and Senior children. The theme for the work is Biodiversity , focusing on Bees as Pollinators. Already Brigid with keen helpers Karen Conlon, Katia Hunter and Mieke Brosan
have made Harvest Crowns to compliment the performance of the Wiggly Waggly Worm song for the Harvest Service. The children collected lots of greenery and had great fun arranging it on their cardboard crowns.
For the second project the children collected crab apples. The Hunter family made apple jelly with them and Brigid helped the children print labels for the jam jars using half of a crab apple. It was exciting to see the patterns that could be made with the apples.
Please follow this blog to learn all that we are up to with this project.
Thanking you Mrs. Brennan
