On Monday the 24th of October the whole school went to a Celtic Plantarum and Scout playground in in Bishop's Wood in Dundrum. The bus arrived at 9:30 AM. We hopped straight on the bus and off to our destination we went.
Firstly, we went on a scavenger hunt. The students in the senior room had to find letters in the Celtic Plantarum that made the word ‘Celtic’. We saw a crannóg. Then we went bug hunting. We sucked up some bugs with pooters. We looked closely at the bugs with our magnifying glasses. We inspected and explored insects like spiders, caterpillars, ants and woodlice. We gently put them back into their habitats.
Shortly after we loaded the bus and headed to the Scout Playground in Bishop’s Wood. Some children played on the swings, some walked on the metal tightrope, some played on a seesaw, some went on the climbing frame, some went walking in the wood, some went looking at the stream and some went into it!
At 1:30 PM we hopped back on the bus to school. All the children can say they had a great time.
