Open Day at Saint Mary's Parochial National School
On Sunday the 16th of October Saint Mary's Parochial School had their Open Day. On a Wet and windy afternoon there was a warm welcome in the building. The laughter from pupils past, present and future could be heard through the corridors.
There were balloons and banners at the gate welcoming people. There were bubbles floating out of the window to greet the children that were coming in. There were fairy lights and a disco ball at the entrance. There were handmade gifts of bouquet garni from our garden for people to take home. These consisted of bay leaf, lavender, and rosemary. All the whiteboards were artistically decorated by the students with welcoming slogans. There was a wide variety of activities for children to engage in like K’nex, painting, table tennis, drawing, Lego and books. There were lots of sweets for children.
We would like to thank the parents for providing delicious and fresh home baking and serving refreshments. Together with the staff and the Board of Management a great display was put on for all who attended. It was a great opportunity for new families to meet each other.
