We had a great day out in Kilkenny recently to visit the award winning animation studio Cartoon Saloon. Before our visit we studied some of their animated films - The Secret of Kells, Wolfwalkers and My Father’s Dragon. Students experienced how a working animation studio operates. We listened to a presentation from the director of animation and we learned where his inspiration comes from and how his team brings his ideas to life. After that interesting tour, we had a picnic in Kilkenny Castle grounds along with some fun in the playground.
