For the last few weeks, we have been very lucky to have two beautiful art pieces for display in our classrooms. In the Junior Room we had 'Family and Identity' by Mary Murphy. Based on this artwork, we created our own family portrait and we did another project based on our families' identity. On this artwork, we explored what makes our family unique and we printed photos to reflect this. Then we designed our names, handprints and flags. You can see that each child's piece is unique and special to them. We had lots of fun creating these art pieces! In the senior room, the pupils studied Chris Haugton's artwork named 'Climate Change'. This is a striking piece of art, showing how climate change affects the animals in our world. Pupils responded to this art through lots of discussion and creating their own artwork in groups. Thanks to the Glucksman Gallery for loaning us these wonderful pieces!
