On the 1st of December a trainee paramedic came to visit us. She showed us what it's like to be a paramedic. The paramedic showed us what number to call in case of an emergency, 999 or 112. When she is called to a scene she checks for the ABC's but not the ABC's you're thinking of! A stands for airway, B stands for breathing and C stands for circulation. To take somebody's pulse she uses a finger pulse oximeter. The paramedic demonstrated the abdominal thrust and CPR. We would like to thank the paramedic who came in to see us, we learned loads.
