3rd- 6th class
Continuing on from the wonderfully supportive and creative start in the Junior classes, your child will progress on into the Senior classes of Third to Sixth. There they will build and consolidate their emerging Literacy and Numeracy skills through daily exposure to the written word, stimulating Reading material and Mathematical activities as well as experiencing all other subjects in the Primary School Curriculum.
Their Teacher will have many opportunities to observe each child's learning skills and will quickly identify their strengths and challenges . The Teacher will adapt the Teaching and Learning processes to best suit your child so that he/she can fulfil their potential. Having each child for four years in the Senior classes allows the Teacher to foster and nurture your child's cognitive, social, emotional, mental and physical skills in a holistic way.
Visiting teachers with expertise in Music, Drama, Art, and Sport are invited to work with the children in a team approach to further the holistic approach initiated in the Senior Room. When leaving Sixth class your child will be confident in their learning abilities, proficient at speaking in front of others, and will possess the ability to self- direct and motivate themselves as independent learners.
Past pupils frequently return to visit the school as the warm, respectful and nurturing relationships built up over the eight years continue to flourish and develop.
